Nosara
Nosara (www.nosara.com) is a small village about 26 km north of Sámara without much to see or do in it – which makes it ideal if you like lying around on beaches. Indeed most come for the three unspoiled beaches which are not particularly close to the village.
Playa Nosara is north of the village across the Río Nosara where you may see turtles (see below); Peladas is the prettiest and smallest, south of the river, and Guiones is safe for swimming and good for surfing. Expatriates have formed the Nosara Civic Association to protect the area’s wildlife and forests and prevent exploitation.
